Interactive elastic buckling mode viewers
RunToSolve · shell finite element eigenbuckling with TriShellFiniteElement.jl and Ferrite.jl, rendered with WGLMakie.jl and Bonito.jl. Pages are self-contained; the first load of the larger ones takes a few seconds while the recorded mode shapes are parsed.

- Characteristic modes with phase animation (40 MB) — lowest local, lowest distortional, the 3 half-wave distortional mode, and the three global modes (flexural-torsional, weak-axis flexure, second flexural-torsional branch). Each mode has a phase slider that steps it through one oscillation. Refined mesh, 125k dofs.
- Local, distortional and global modes from a shift-and-invert search (16 MB) — mode slider over the six lowest local modes plus every distortional and global mode found between 30 and 57 kN, labelled by class. Refined mesh, 125k dofs.
- Lowest 12 modes (6 MB) — all web local buckling, 16.0 to 18.4 kN, on the 10 mm mesh (32k dofs).
Material E = 200 GPa, ν = 0.30, t = 0.879 mm (33 mil). Results: local 16.1 kN (CUFSM 15.9), distortional 39.4 kN on the refined mesh and 37.8 kN mesh-converged (CUFSM 37.5), flexural-torsional 37.0 kN (classical 37.3). Element shear relaxation factor Cs = 0.2.
